Biennalissimo!

Ah Venezia! Venice is of course a beautiful city and for people interested in arts it’s a hot and long pavement. The two main-areas (Giardini and Arsenale) of the Biennale are big and not so overcrowded like the small paths (Impossible to walk in that mud Hunter would say) but it is also impossible to see all the Biennale in one day. It’s just too much to experience and some of the things are truly damn nice. Scattered over the city you can also find a lot of other pavilions. Some of them are not easy to find, but exactly that makes it even more charming: getting lost again and again and discovering always new places. Altogether it was a very nice journey. I am sure I will return to check out the rest some day. [Thanx to Ira, Lizzy & Joe to be present]

La Biennale

La Biennale

Don’t worry they are not wasted; it’s a performance by Tino Sehgal [>>] with changing performers. Honestly I heard better beatboxing before and the singing scared the hell out me.

La Biennale

The israeli pavilion showed some nice technocratic tunes on screen and some kind of a horrorshow by Gilad Ratman [>>]. I liked the dark atmosphere in there.

La Biennale

Shinro Ohtake [>>] fills big books with lots of stuff he collects and paints over it. Nice!

La Biennale

Cathy Wilkes [>>]; on the road, installation in The Encyclopedic Palace.

La Biennale

Sarah Sze [>>]: Triple Point in the USA pavilion. Here some strange Foucault pendulum.

La Biennale

Ai Wei Wei [>>]: Everybody already knows his installation in the german pavilion I guess.

La Biennale

The russian pavilion: Part of Vadim Zakharov’s Danaë [>>].

La Biennale

Pawel Althamer’s sculptures with real faces of venetian people [>>].

La Biennale

The book Genesis as comic by Robert Crumb [>>].

La Biennale

Pavilion of Montenegro: Image Think by Irena Lagator Pejovic [>>].

La Biennale

Some stranger submitted this work with double-meaning.

La Biennale

Of course Falschetto El Fluctibosso himself couldn’t resist leaving a bacteria there…
